How many times have you seen a poster in a classroom, or library that says ‘knowledge is power’? I have seen this many times and I believe that it is the truest and most inspiring poster ever. Knowledge is only gained by receiving an education. Everyone has the right to receive an education. No one should be denied of that right because we all have the potential to learn. My commitment to the future of America is to educate the next generation of the importance of the past, as well as to assist them in preparing to be a better citizen for their futures. Every morning, in every school the Pledge of Allegiance is recited. When I see people fooling around or not paying attention during this total time of 30 seconds, I feel as though they are disrespecting more than a just saying. They are disrespecting past generations that have helped mold our country into what it is today. I want to teach children the importance of the Pledge of Allegiance. I want them not only to learn the words, but to also learn the significance of them.
