little women review
By reading two different reviews of Little Women, one by Terrence Rafferty and one by Mary Gaitskill, a person can get a good concept of how a review should be written. Rafferty concentrates on an evaluation of the film version, where Gaitskill focuses more on her reading of the novel, her interview with Robin Swicord, and her own memories of growing up in Livonia, Michigan. People have different concepts and opinions so these two reviews are very different then one another even though they have the same topic. Although Gaitskill's review may give the reader a good concept of the novel Rafferty's is more direct and straight to the point. In the beginning of "American Gothic" Rafferty talks about the author of Little Women, Louisa May Alcott. Then he relates the Alcott's to the March's. The March's are the main family of the novel. He then goes on further and describes a little about each character in the March family.
