According to the article fifty-two percent of women and thirty-seven of all men seen themselves as being overweight. When looking at the national standards they are not considered as being overweight. The reason that most people view themselves as being overweight is due to the media. The media portrays that being thin is the best way to be. All you see on television is women who are really thin and tall, so society tend to think that is the way to be. Moreover, being thin is considered as being healthy. Americans spend over thirty-five billion dollars each year on trying to lose weight.
