New technology and its rate of advancement affects our everyday life. To aid our understanding of computers and other technology and the role that they play, it is important to realise that historically, this technology is very new, and was not originally conceived for education purposes. The computer in the classroom, however, can be an invaluable tool as it has the potential to cater to all types of learners. The major reason for computer familiarity for students must surely be the fact that computers feature so prominently in everyday life, and the purpose of education is to prepare students for the real world.
