Death Penalty Opposition
The Death Penalty: Two Deaths Do Not Make it Right Imagine being led down the hallway almost four years after your trial. You are sweating, crying, and you have not slept in days. But, today is your day. Today you will get the punishment that the twelve people on the jury saw fit for your horrific crime. There is just one thing: you did not commit the crime. That does not matter now though because there are only two people who know the truth: the murderer, and you. A few years down the road, new evidence is revealed and you are proven innocent, but it is too late. Our criminal justice system has just executed another innocent person. This situation is all too common and over the last century it has been estimated that about twenty-five innocent people have been executed.
