Case Management of a Pregnant woman BP is a 28 y.o. G2P1 admitted at 0700 to the Labor and Delivery Unit by Paramedics due to rapid onset of labor. BP was 146/74 Pulse was 87 and Respirations were 24. Upon vaginal examination she was dilated to 10 cm and 100% effaced, station was +1. The MD was immediately called. By the time the MD reached the patient, the fetus was crowning and a bulging bag of water was presenting. The MD did not have time to perform an episiotomy and the infant boy was delivered within ten minutes of the patient’s arrival. The infant was delivered with no complications. The MD had to repair vaginal tissue due to tearing during delivery. BP is accompanied by her husband. They have a daughter aged 3 years who was delivered with no complications.
