Is Faith a Gift or a Reason? Faith is different for each individual. What you believe in depends on your views and interpretations of religious things such as the bible. To have faith, you must believe that it is a gift or a reason. By saying that faith is a reason, it means that you can work out for yourself that God exists through philosophical arguments. This means that faith is available to all if you look. It means that each person’s individual image of God is different. St Thomas Aquinas believed that faith is a reason, but he also believed that we couldn’t know everything about God.
