I'm not going to discuss who or what Jesus actually was. Whether or not he was the Messiah, a Prophet, the Son of God, or just another megalomaniac is a matter of individual belief and you and I may each decide that matter for ourselves. What I am going to do is challenge the fundamental principles of Christianity as counter to the teachings of Jesus, whoever he was. The concepts taught by the christian clergy are that Jesus was the son of god, that he was sent to Earth to save us from our sins, that his ordeal and martyrdom was punishment and atonement for the sins of all mankind, and that we are therefore forgiven for all sins en perpetuity. They teach that there's a place in heaven for anyone who believes this, and that anyone who doesn't will end up in hell. They say this is true because it's all in the Bible. They are correct in noting that these points are stated in the Bible, but there are two flaws. One is that the New Testament as a whole is a very unreliable document (I will explain this further) and the other is that the same document contains wildly contradictory information. The reason that the New Testament is unreliable is that it was written years after the death of Jesus by his followers for the purposes of recruitment.
