The all-famous “Captain John Smith” of Jamestown wasn’t always a person that most know him to be. His story before Jamestown and the Native Americans was (in some ways) just as adventurous than of the events most people know about. But the events token place before his famous journey helped him become the great person he became to be later on. His life was full of adventures and he did many things that help reflect on how people view him today as the person he was. John Smith’s story begins when he was born in 1580 in Willoughby, England. He left his house when was 16 years old after his father past away. He then went off and fought in many battles and was then set to be Captain while fighting in a battle at Hungary later on. Two years after Hungary, he fought in Transylvania, was wounded, captured and sold as a slave to a Turk.
