George Benson is known as one of the greatest guitarists of the 1960s jazz era. Prominent guitarists of the 60s such as: Wes Montgomery, Grant Green, Pat Martino, Gabor Szabo, and Attila Zoller, share the acknowledgment along side of him. In today’s society, Benson is known for his versatility as a jazz musician and a rhythm and blues artist. He is the guitar-playing equivalent of Nat “King” Cole (Ginell).
