After a long drive, Tiger Woods lay 120 yards short of the green. A slight wind is blowing from the east, and several trees are blocking his view of the green. Also, the green has a very distinct left to right slant. After taking in to account all of these factors, Woods sets up for his shot, swings, and lands the ball two feet from the hole. Whether Tiger Woods knew it or not, many mathematical factors determined how hard he would hit the ball, how high he would hit the ball, and where he would land it.
