Neo is “The One” chosen to defeat The Matrix. Neo is confused and does not understand how there could possibly be a life controlled by machines. When Morpheus tells Neo and shows him how humans are used in the future. The sun has been covered up with clouds and so humans must be used for energy. Humans are no longer born but grown. Neo must fight the agents and show that he is “The One.” The Oracle tells Neo that he is not “The One” and Morpheus is only using him to beat off the agents.
