I. Hypothesis: Any of the larger or heavier pieces of the bean will be pulled to the bottom of the test tube during centrifugation. II. Questions: 1) What is diff. centrifugation? Differential centrifugation is the process that involves the use of the centrifuge to isolate the organelles at different speeds. 2) Explain the sequence which the following would be “pulled” down. (From heaviest to lightest)-leucoplasts, cell wall, random sm. starch pieces, chloroplasts, mitochondria, and simple sugars and amino acids. 3) Why did we: A) chill the bean homogenate “shake”?-We put the “shake” in the fridge so it wouldn’t break itself down.
