The Scarlet Letter is a book of much symbolism. The letter “A”, sunshine, and the meteor are all important symbols in The Scarlet Letter. Along with those three, there are a plethora of others. In the following essay, I will explore some of the symbolism used throughout the novel. In The Scarlet Letter, the symbol of most importance is the letter “A” which Hester Prynne is condemned to wear, having been found guilty of adultery.
