This year, the year 2003 we have come together to celebrate one hundred years of African American success. We come to commemorate one hundred years of struggles and achievements. From the establishment of the NAACP to the fight for Civil Rights in the sixties, we have witnessed racial promotion become more common in the African American communities. Towards the early mark of the century it was common for African Americans to promote racial marginalism. It is now visible, one hundred years later, that we have stepped away from marginalism. As we reflect upon the centennial achievements, we are obligated to think of such achievements as the NAACP, Civil Rights Movement, African Americans in music, drama, sports, and government. However, we tend to neglect African American journals. As we overlook African American Journals we do not see that African American journals, at the beginning of the Centennial Reflection, created African American readers.
