What are the limits technology allows mankind to reach? In the film Gattaca, directed by Andrew Niccoi, individuals are genetically engineered to fit the “perfect” being. Unfortunately, Vincent was born as a normal child and was predetermined to live 30.2 years with 89%heart failure and ADD. This limited his capabilities as an adult and predicted his future solely based on genetics. Vincent’s parents decided that for their second child they would leave it to the geneticists to engineer the ideal child. Anton was Vincent’s younger brother that was the antagonist in the film. He matched everything Vincent could do and better until one-day things would change. Despite Vincent’s limitations, his dreams of the stars and more become possible by exchanging identities with Jerome Farrow, a “valid” by birth.
