An Old Note “Your life is going down the drain, and I do not care anymore”, screamed Mel’s father. Mel sat there, taking in what her father had just said. Mel had just told her father that she was pregnant. She knew what her father had said was true, Her life was going down the drain, and Mel was ready to end it. It all started on February 17, 2001. Mel received a startling phone call. It was her best friend, Alana’s father. The only thing Mel could make out over his weeping was, “car accident and Alana is dead”.
