(details,symptoms,age when experienced) ***what is it?*** Glauvoma is an abnormally high fluid pressure in the eye, most commonly caused by blockage of the channel through which aqueous humor (a transparent fluid occupying the space between the crystalline lens and the cornea of the eye) drains. ***what causes it*** The iris and cornea of the eye are constanly bathed by a water based fluid called aqueous humor. When new fluid produced by cells in the eye excess fluid is supposed to drain out a complex network of tissue but an imbalance between aqueous humor and rate of drainage will bring chronic glaucoma.
