Once Upon a time there lived a girl of six years of age named Scout. She lived in the town of Maycomb Alabama, in the southern United States, with her brother Jem, their father Atticus and their maid Calpurnia. Atticus was a respected lawyer at this time but was getting older and so he received fewer cases from the count. One day while Jem and Scout were playing they met upon a funny a funny little boy named Dill, he was the same age as Scout and currently happened to be staying the summer with their next door neighbour. Soon the three grew very close together as friends and experienced many adventures together. One such adventure occurred when Dill, driven by his fascination for the neighbourhood ‘shut-in’: ‘boo’ Radley, decided that it would be great fun to sneak into the Radley yard and attempt to make Boo come out by knocking on his backdoor.
