Infatuation: "He's So Hot!" "That guy is so hot, I totally love him!" Just a taste of what I hear as I walk down my high school hallway on my way to class. Left, right, and centre I see girls swooning over "total hotties." They remark to their giggling girlfriends that they are in love and want to "get" with these boys. The sad thing is that most of them have never spoken to these boys in their lives. "Total Hotties" usually consist of popular, sporty, and good-looking boys. They are most of the time not very nice as well. We all have this twang in our hearts as they strut by. I'm surprised we don't have more young girls' hearts exploding from all the pitter-pattering they do. Recently I had the pleasure of being a grade nine mentor for my school. I had in my mentor group "the hottest guy" in grade nine, Mike. The dreamboat was tall, handsome, strong, athletic, smart and surprising sweet.
