To make this profit you have to no what customers want to buy they do this buy what is called “Segmenting the market.” This is were they divide according to the characteristics of buyers for example Age- very young children, teenagers and old age pensioners all buy different things and want different things. Gender- men and women may only have different needs and wants such as perfumes for women n after shave for men. Income- those lower class can’t afford to splash out on shopping like the middle class. A place like Harrods may target the middle and higher class But the lower class maybe attracted to Kwick Save. Area- some places in the UK buy more cloths than others and some places like France like more different kinds of washing power to those in Italy.
