The camera was invented in 1888, by a man named George Eastman. The camera is an invention in which we use to take portraits of things we like. That portrait would capture that moment in time or preserve that special occasion not only in our memory. Every household has one and the camera has been a success to economic society. Eastman had four basic principles for the business to be successful. They were: • Mass production at low cost • International distribution • Extensive advertising • A focus on the customer A camera is an instrument used for taking photographs or motion pictures. The camera is ranked as one of the most important means of communication. The simplest kind of camera is a dark bar that holds light-sensitive film at one end. Light reflects off the scene that is being photographed & enters the camera through the lens that is the opposite end. The light exposes the film to make a picture. All cameras that take photographs & those that make motion pictures use the same basic principles to form an image. Light reflect from the scene being photographed & strikes the lens of the camera. The light passes through the lens & forms an up side down image on the film at the back of the camera. The image can be sharpened by adjusting the distance between the lens & the film. Many cameras are able to focus on the particular object, which then the photographer moves the lens a short distance to sharpen the image. The camera was advanced many times, including the following: 1889- The first transparent roll film was put on the market, and this flexible film made it possible for Thomas Edison’s invention of the motion picture camera to work.
