Ode to My Mommy I love you so much You can’t even fathom When I see you I know, your love is pure You gave your heart, your soul, yourself Brought me into this world And promised the earth would never hurt me You brought me up well A beautiful creation When some might say “ its hideous” you would say “no way” I grew up on your love and warm heart Your compassion helped me through the rough times Pushing me and guiding me to succeed Come fire or flood You stood by my side My knight in shining armor, my shoulder on which to cry You led me through dark and into the light A cool breeze in the summer A warm feeling in the winter You’ll be there for everything My first kiss My first love Stand by me while I try in my white flowing gown Give me a kiss Smile, then frown Look at me now, you’re letting me go Tears flow from my eyes As the limo pulls away Here I am, in the hospital I lie My hand clasped in yours You whisper, its okay don’t cry Now words from the doctor “Congratulations,” he says It’s a girl, see here, take a look, go ahead So graduation, wedding, the hospital bed You know you’re the best by what I’ve just said I love you so much So here I am all this yet to come And before I forget let me just say: Thanks mom for everything you give me each day!
