The Dangers of Drinking and Driving Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience to see the dangers of drinking and driving. Central Idea: To tell my audience about how drinking and driving is morally wrong, dangerous, and its consequences. I. Introduction A. Have you or do you know someone who has received a D.U.I.? B. Personally, I know plenty of people who have gotten a D.U.I. and still have not learned their lesson. C. All injuries and deaths caused by drunk driving are completely preventable. D. Unfortunately, drunk drivers cause over twenty percent of all traffic fatalities in the United States each year.
